Karl Lagerfeld was the first portrait that I made in perler beads. Needless to say it was amazing to be able to show Karl my portrait of him yesterday when Kyle (my co-worker who coincidentally has model-like good looks) and I ran into him on Prince Street (thanks for tip Kate Bosworth!). After meeting one of my biggest idols, I am somewhere between cloud 9 and 10 - still rising. His advice: SEND TO CHANEL, 31 RUE CAMBON, PARIS!
Bowties are in this season.
For the New York City Opera Gala, I created an outfit with a woman’s “tux” blazer found at Housing Works, a Calvin Klein Tuxedo shirt, Scissor Sisters “cufflinks”, Comme des Garçons BLACK drop crotch trousers, and my Doc Martens Lex Black Petrol shoes.
At the event, I tried to pass on my “Bill” piece to Bill Cunningham, but he respectfully declined stating that “The Times has very strict policies about that sort of thing”. Luckily he agreed to be photographed with it (and me). His advice - SELL IT!
Happy Halloween Everybody!
I met Andrej Pejic at the grand opening party for the new Pat Fields store. She kindly agreed to taking a picture with me and when I said that I would not give face the way she would she commanded “SERVE!”.

And another one…
I recently had the opportunity to present Gilbert and George with my artwork. They seemed to really love it. When George bid farewell to me with two kisses on my cheeks I felt like I had been touched by the Art Gods!
See video of me presenting my work on the Lehmann Maupin website here.
